Go Joey! It's my birthday!

Today I turned 15. So it has been almost 15 years that I have been with my mama!
In human years I am 76--an old man. But I am pretty fiesty for my age.
This morning Mama gave me a brand new cardboard scratching post with catnip! Woot-woot!
I was kinda suspicious of Mama this morning. I was worried she was going to try to squish me into that stupid carrier.
She left the scratching post out for me--not in its usual spot. And I kinda wasn't sure what to do with it.
When Curt got up this morning he pushed it into its regular spot. Ahhh! Much better.
So far a great birthday.

Check out this nice letter from my doctor's office:

Dear JOEY,
We heard a rumor that someone very special is having a birthday today, you! We hope it's a memorable one, full of fun and hugs from your favorite humans. Here's wishing you a happy and healthy birthday and many more to come. Oh, and one more thing -- let your favorite human handle the birthday candles!
Sincerely, The Doctors and Staff at Broadway Pet Hospital

Hanging at home with Curt

Curt is working from home today. Now I have someone to meow at all day. But, well, it is Curt. I would be much happier if Mama were here. But Curt will do.
That being said, I am enjoying having Curt here because he opened the front door for me so I can look out, meow and soak up some sun. I havn't quite figured out how to open the door myself when I am home alone.
I thought I heard Mama say something about it being Friday. So yea! That means Mama and Curt will be home the next couple of days.
Happy weekend everyone!
Meow!

Clean bill of health

Heard back from the vet yesterday and my blood results came back all clear.
I am pretty fiesty for an almost 15-year-old kitty. Yea, you would have never known, huh?

That geetar playing puts me to sleep

Mama recently started learning to play the guitar. She kept locking me out of the spare room/office where she was practicing tonight. But I barged my way in and rested on the futon. Man, her rendition of Smoke on the Water had me to sleep so quickly.

Yearly doctor appointment

Mama shoved me into my carrier today and whisked me off to the vet.
It wasn't that bad. But I don't want her to know that.
I have lost a little weight, my temp was normal, my eye is still a little runny. Dr. Miller told Mama that no teeth cleaning is required this year. Thank GAWD!
Mama has to get me some medicine at the health food store and crush it up in my food or something. Anything has to be better than that ointment that got smeared in my eye and that foul-tasting paste. Mama and Curt would gang up on me to get that stuff in my eye and in my mouth. One time I took a good swipe at Curt's lip!
